Meet Dr. Foster

Dr. Austin Foster was born and raised in the Des Moines metro area and graduated from Waukee High School. He attended the University of Northern Iowa on a Presidential Scholarship and graduated summa cum laude with a BA in biology. Dr. Foster went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Master of Science in Orthodontics, and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. He is a specialist in orthodontics for children and adults. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, he is one of only a few Orthodontists in central Iowa who are Board Certified in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. In addition to standard orthodontic treatment, Dr. Foster has advanced training in bone screw implants (TADs), Invisalign and 3M Clarity clear aligner therapy, orthognathic surgery integrated treatment, and soft tissue lasers. Dr. Foster is a published author. He retains strong ties with the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Iowa through his appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Orthodontics and enjoys serving as one of the six members of the residency program’s Admissions Committee. Outside the office, Dr. Foster enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, being outdoors, swimming, biking, and playing golf. He, his wife Devon, & their son Briggs live in West Des Moines.
